With 2012 in full swing, here is a recap of a small portion of the athletic work that we have produced for Tech over the past year.

As we work on material to get ready for the Poinsettia Bowl, we want to congratulate Sonny Dykes and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on their WAC Championship and bowl bid.
The Bulldogs received numerous individual and team accolades this season including Sonny Dykes’ WAC Coach of the Year award, Adrien Cole’s WAC Defensive Player of the Year title, 7 All-WAC First Team honors, Ryan Allen’s Ray Guy Award given to the nation’s top punter, and of course, the aforementioned conference championship.
It is an exciting time to be the designers for Tech Athletics! Go Bulldogs!
TweetFriday, we went live with a site for one of our coolest clients, Bowen Knife Co. The site was built from scratch with a custom design, product & site photography, new logo, generated copy, cart programming, & hosting.
Bowen Knife Co. sells the unique product of a belt that features a buckle that is a knife hidden in a sheath on the belt itself. It makes for a great combo of style and function due to the meeting of men’s 2 most essential accessories — a knife and a belt. Along with utility, it makes for great self defense.
The company’s owner asked us to rebrand, angling more towards a focus of men’s fashion with a nod to survival/hunting. We started earlier this year with a logo before borrowing some products for product photography and doing a little self-modeling for site photography. We generated copy for the site including the company’s new tag line: “Look sharp. Literally.”

We took photographs of some of their blades and then worked photoshop magic for the product section of their page.
We even made a video for the site that shows how to fasten the belt and un-sheath the hidden knife.
Check out the site and read up on their story, see the products and maybe even buy one of these quality, high-end knife belts.
Today we drop the veil on our poster we designed for Louisiana Tech Football. “Isn’t it a little early for football?” you ask. Well, around here, we live in the nirvana of never having to stop thinking about football. Therefore, to help tide you over, we give you the 2011 season poster for Bulldog football:
As you can see, our promotion is this year is “Your Town. Your Team. Your Gameday!” and we plan on using this throughout Tech athletics for the upcoming season. The basis for the poster and promotions is to get everyone excited about the 2011 season by utilizing one of the most important aspects of college football — tailgating!
If you have ever been to a college football game, you know how unique of an experience tailgating is. And it’s also a part of the game that is completely fan-based and bonds everyone together. That is why we felt it was the perfect symbol for illustrating that this year is about the community, students, and area coming together to support Tech football.
And if you notice, just as with the Track & Field media guide, we incorporated a QR Code that if you take a picture with your mobile phone, will take you to an online version of the schedule. Check it out for yourself!
